Transportation Options
Car Rental
Eight rental car companies serve Des Moines International Airport: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty, Alamo, and Dollar. Rental car booths are located on the lower level of the Main Terminal hall near baggage claim and ground transportation. Airline guests should make advance rental car reservations prior to arrival in Des Moines.

Public Transportation
Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART) services the International Airport and provides transportation to various locations throughout the vicinity. Guests can contact the ground transportation booth for information on bus routes and schedules. Public handicapped assistance transportation services are also available from the airport. Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) offers transportation services to the Greater Des Moines community with over 90 buses. DART’s bus routes travel throughout the area daily to major business districts, residential areas and shopping malls. Please note: Bus service is only available Monday through Friday.

Airport Shuttles
Airport hotels and many hotels downtown offer free shuttle service. Please call your hotel to inquire about a free airport shuttle service. Private shuttles are also available. They charge a flat fee per passenger, and provide transportation to various locations.
Taxi Services
Capitol Cab Company and Yellow Cab Company are licensed to provide service at Des Moines International Airport. Guests can locate taxicabs on the lower level of the Main Terminal hall outside baggage claim in the pick-up and drop-off zones.
