Registration Fees & Deadlines
On-Site Registration
Registration will be available at the door for some field trips, the full conference, and conference day passes. To register, please come to the Polk County Convention Complex during the following hours:
- Saturday 10/10
- 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday 10/11
- 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Monday 10/12
- 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Tuesday 10/13
- 7:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Full Registration for the Annual Conference
Full registration includes all events Sunday morning through Tuesday, as well as the following meals:
- Sunday evening reception
- breakfast Sunday, Monday and Tuesday
- lunch on Sunday
Lunch on Tuesday is optional if registering to attend the Iowa Hunger Summit (space is limited; please register separately at: www.worldfoodprize.org). Full Registration for non-members also includes an annual CFSC membership. If you are not currently a member, please indicate when you register whether you would like to become a member.

Pre-Conference Events
The Food Policy Council Gathering and Field Trips take place on Saturday October 10, 2009. Register early before they fill up. These events are offered at an additional cost to the conference registration fee and are open to the public.
Field Trips
All field trips – $65 each
We will be accepting registration on site for two field trips:
Diversity in the Heartland and Farmers Tell it Like it Is
To register on site for one of these field trips, please arrive at the Des Moines Farmers Market between 7 and 8am, and find the CFSC conference table.

Food Policy Council Gathering
Registration Fee for this event is $95. The fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, and a light reception immediately following the gathering. Read more about the Food Policy Council Gathering.
This event is FULL. We will not be accepting new registrations at the door.
Refund policy
No refunds are possible after September 25, 2009. No exceptions. Refunds requested prior to September 25 will be charged a $50 refund fee. Please contact emily@foodsecurity.org to request a refund.
Speakers and workshop presenters
Speakers and workshop presenters will receive an email with registration instructions to receive your speaker discount. Please do not register until you have received a discount code.
Scholarships
Limited scholarships are available to cover costs for conference participants. Priority for these scholarships will be given to limited resource farmers/producers, youth, and people working in low-income areas or communities of color.
CFSC is committed to creating and reinforcing an inclusive, creative and productive environment in which each attendee feels accepted, respected and believes it is possible to achieve his or her fullest potential. Scholarship funds may be used for registration costs, which include meals ($225 for CFSC members, $275 for non-members). If you are able to pay the registration fee through other sources, you may use up to $225 for travel related expenses.
If you apply for a scholarship, please do not register before you hear back from the scholarship committee. If you are not awarded a scholarship, you will be able to register at the early registration rates.

Other Options for Financial Assistance:
Speakers & Workshop presenters will be able to register at a discounted rate. An email will be sent to speakers with more information. Speakers may also apply for scholarships.
Volunteers can work 12 hours to attend the conference for free (not including meals or receptions) or for $100 (including meals and receptions). Send an email to emily@foodsecurity.org by August 31st if you are interested in volunteering.
