CFSC and Working Films will present a selection of films by nonfiction media-makers who are telling powerful stories about food and agriculture on Sunday, November 6 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm

See selections from Lunch Love Community as well as Truck Farm. You’ll also have a chance to hear from filmmakers from around the country about their work creating films that are seeding change in their communities.

The Lunch Love Community Documentary Project explores the community-based school lunch reform movement now spreading across the nation. It is a story of how passionate and dedicated individuals are changing the way children eat, learn, and think about food systems.

Truck Farm tells the story of a new generation of American farmers. Blending serious exposition with serious silliness, Truck Farm entreats viewers to ponder the future of urban farming, and to consider whether sustainability needs a dose of whimsy to be truly sustainable.

Want to see more films? Check out the Food Justice Film Festival on November 4 from 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm.

Reel Food: Films Seeding Change

Wednesday, November 9

Reel Food is a one day convening that will bring together nonfiction media-makers telling powerful stories about food and agriculture with non-profits and funders working for healthy communities. This event is an opportunity for organizations to explore the ways a select group of documentary films and innovative social media tools can advance your efforts for a sustainable and just food system.

Reel Food will be held on Wednesday November 9, following the close of the CFSC conference. Participation is by invitation only. If you are interested in attending or want to learn more, please contact Anna Lee, alee@workingfilms.org,  at Working Films. CFSC and Working Films are also collaborating to present a film screening event during the CFSC conference.
